Beech - Old magic and history. Hopeful magic and wishes. These people tend to be historians and archaeologists. They are also dreamers, writing a lot of fiction (fantasy in particular).
Birch - a satin like sheen, the wand is usually very thin and elegant and a reflection of its owner. Usually a female gravitated wood as it is the national tree if Russia and used to honor the goddess.
Blackthornp - Creative magic as in the creation of new things such as people and creatures. This includes plant magic and growing gardens and crops. Cleansing magic getting rid of dark magic. These people are very good parents and great gardeners.
Butternut - lightweight wood native to North America. The nuts are used in baking and candy so it is good for those adept in magical cooking and who have a sweet disposition.
Chestnut - a wood native to both Europe and Asia, strong and very durable. This wood is a favorite of those with strong moral fiber as well as those who posses and take pride in physical strength.
Cypress - Associated in Greek Mythology with the god of the underworld, Hades. A favorite of dark wizards.
Ebony - Resistance, obstinacy, strength in opposition. Protection from Tyranny, outside control, wrongful commands or magical mind control. Inability to change. Inability to bend. Overwhelming masculinity
Elder - Healing after emotional injury. Regeneration magic. These people are the creepy scientists trying to bring the dead back to life. Some don't go that far, and are simply good at recovering from traumas. They also help others through trauma. They notice a lot of people come to them with their troubles
Elm - Magic relating to animals and magical creatures. These people are talented with animals, and love camping
Fir - Aromatic wood found in both America and Asia in colder climates. Mostly this wood denotes those who have a strong bond with family and friends, enjoy being the host of many parties and making others smile. The owner of a Fir wand generally enjoys the outdoors and winter sports
Hawthorn - Marital magic and parenting. Protection from dark magic. Magic to bring happiness, and communication with magical places and spirits. These people are always searching for a life-mate for either themselves or their friends and family. They can be supersticious.
Hazel - Wisdom-related magic and power-related magic. Creativity and dowsing. Users of these wands tend to be very intelligent and creative. Teachers and artists use Hazel a lot
Hemlock - in ancient Greece, poison was brewed from the Hemlock and therefore this makes a wonderful wood for those who are a fan of potion making or even those involved in the dark arts.
Hickory - this wood is tough yet flexible and makes a good match for those who work with their hands, craftsmen, hunters, and archers

Mahogany - prominent in Cuba, Africa, Belize, and West India. Its reddish hue gives off a beautiful glow. A favorable wood for boat makers and those who love the sea and guitar players.
Maple - the maple is mostly known for its fast growing height and beautifully colored leaves in the Autumn. Mostly used by those who are quite tall in stature or overly gorgeous and proud of their appearance. Models and those who enjoy the wonders of nature and the human form
Oak - This is sort of the general power tree. Strength and courage are related to the oak. Users of this wand tend to be leaders.
Olive - A Giving tree. Generosity even to the point of self sacrifice. Accepting a lonely lifestyle without bitterness. The sentry, the scout, the shepherd. This wood is often associated with Diplomacy and peace
Pine - Ancient magic. Practical, survival-based household magic.
Magic associated with longevity, including healing. Party magic celebration. These people are fun friends. They throw the parties, and they are the cooks
Poplar - Preventative magic not really protection. Graceful magic, meaning anything that might contribute to one's dignity. These people are cautious, but aware that some negative situations have tremendously positive outcomes. They are very dignified, and sometimes can be found in positions of royalty.
Rosewood - best qualities come out when this heavy dark wood is highly polished. Used in flooring and musical instruments it is a strong match for those who are masters at wizard chess, dancing and performance art.
Rowan - This is the all-purpose protection tree. Protection from everything almost. It also is a "grounded" tree with all five senses working together. Magic regarding success. These people can be a little paranoid, and are aware of everything. They are also good entrepreneurs.
Silver Birch - Magic relating to friendship and other relationships. Inspiration and new ideas. Good for evolving old ideas. Also good for healing magic. These people are always trying to improve things
Spruce - the long wood fibers of the spruce tree make it ideal in paper and parchment making. Most owners of a spruce wand are intelligent and enjoy reading, studying and may become accomplished authors.
Sycamore - commonly found in the Middle East and Africa, its properties were often utilized in Egyptian medicine and thus is a useful wood for healers.
Willow - Magic dealing with water, and psychic abilities. Dream magic. These people tend to be emotional, empathetic, and spend a lot of time sleeping
Yew - Transformation, Divination, work with spirits and magical creatures. Those who have Yew wands tend to be secretive and mysterious, with a very serious side

Acromantula Silk - the silk of this giant south African spider is used to channel the intelligence and cunning of the massive arachnid
Augrey - strongest when working weather charms, given the augurey's innate ability to predict rainfall
Basilisk Tongue - though the Basilisk’s eyes cast a deadly glance, the venom and saliva of this serpent is also quite hazardous and must be handled carefully. A favorable core for potion makers and dueling masters.
Billywig Stinger - Exceptionally good when working levitation charms. The only drawback to this core is that it is somewhat unstable, given the volatile nature of the insect that provides it. Also useful when dealing with emotional healing
Blast-Ended Skrewt Claw - lending both protection strength and fire control, this is a good core for those who enjoy the outdoors.
Centaur tail hair - The sheer strength and speed of the centaur is harbored in its tail hair lending both quickness and ferocity when casting spells, charms, jinxes and hexes.
Centaur mane hair - The cool logic of the centaur makes this a very stable core material. Long known for their intellectual ability, centaurs are also known for their skill as healers and this core is very good for healing charms
Chimera mane hair - Hair from a Chimaera's Mane is a good core for spells that involve fire. This core may choose someone who is adventurous, noble, and/or a parselmouth.
Crup Hair - This core is good for counter curses, and spells to speed something up. The core "Crup Hairs" prefers someone who is constantly in motion, someone who is strong, and/or someone who never gives up easily.
Demiguise hair - The hair of a demiguise is long and silky, and good at charms involving invisibility, and transfiguration. It is very dependable and long lasting, and can heal very well.
Dragon Heart String - Chinese symbol for Emperors and power this core is favored by those of noble blood and those who crave power
Erkling Vocal Chord - mischievous and evil creatures native to Germany who lore children with their cackling laughter into the woods and eat them. Core is best suited for those who are practical jokers with a bit of a mean streak
Erumpent Horn - native to Africa, this animal is docile unless provoked. Their horn contains highly unstable and explosive fluid causing any magic cast by a wand with this core to be quite unstable and unpredictable
Fairy Hair - lending beauty and softness to both the owner and the spells cast. Wonderful in working with magical decorating or landscaping
Fairy Wing - a staple for those who work with levitation charms or are expert fliers
Fox Fur - The fur of a fox used in the core makes this wand a useful tool for transfiguration. The most powerful users can use this wand for invisibility.
Hellhound Hair - large black demonic dog of censored with glowing eyes and unnatural speed. Quickness of cast spells and dark arts are best produced by this core
Hippocampus scale - Good with water-related spells, and can perform spells to destroy evil underwater creatures. It makes a good wand for care of animals and gardening work, as it is harmonious with almost all un-human creatures
Hippogriff feather - Hippogriff feathers make powerful wand cores and can perform almost all kinds of magic well. They excel in transfiguration and levitation especially, and are very common in European wands.
Jarvey feather - A valuable wand core, the Jarvey feather is good at all simple spells and many advanced ones. It is most effective when used to bewitch an object or an animal, but is also used to organize things and to clean dishes
Jobberknoll feather - Jobberknoll feathers are good wand cores for charms, advancing along with its owner through time. It is also used in simple cooking spells and transfiguration.

Manticore Hair - A core that is used for producing a protection (a shield to protect someone/something from any spells or charms, except the Killing Curse) is Manticore hair. Any wand that has this core may choose someone who is brave, loyal, strong, and fierce
Manticore Stinger - intellect of a human combined with the strength and ferocity of a lion and the deadliness of the scorpion. Usually this core will gravitate to the darkest of wizards.
Nundu Spot - possibly the most dangerous creature in the world, this leopard like creature is known to wipe out entire villages with its disease-filled breath. Many dark wizards use this core as it amplifies the unforgivable and torture curses.
Phoenix Feather - The phoenix feather represents power and strength in a wizard, which is why her wand is one of the most powerful of all. It improves the effectiveness of spells with time and practice, and can be used to do great things, good or evil.
Pogrebin hair - Pogrebin hairs carry lots of power and are good for work with transfiguration and work with the earth element. They are effective in most advanced spells, but are best when in used in the dark arts
Salamander Tail - bred and lives in the fire and con only life outside of the flames if it is given pepper to eat. The blood had incredible healing properties and therefore the core is a favorite of magical healers of both wizards and creatures.
Selkie whisker - particularly useful when working with the element of water in any form. Given the selkie's gift of transfiguration this wand core is favored by animagi.
Sphinx Mane Hair - intelligent, protective and speaking only in riddles are the known traits of this beast. Core will gravitate to those of great sound metal ability and the ability to think under pressure.
Unicorn Hair - pure fast and shy creatures that live in the forest. Their blood can sustain the life of any dying creature though to kill a unicorn is the ultimate sin. This core is best used by those who are contemplative, cautious and kind.
Vampire Blood - creatures of the night who continue their life by sucking it out of others. Core gravitates to those who are adept at the dark arts and love being out and up all night.
Veela Hair- This wand is useful for things related to love and/or beauty. It's also good for transfiguration and charms. However it can be a bit temperamental.
